About the Author

Leah Remini is an American actress, author, and activist. She is best known for her roles as Carrie Heffernan on the sitcom The King of Queens and as Vanessa Cellucci in the police procedural series Kevin Can Wait.

Remini was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 15, 1970. She began her acting career in the early 1990s, appearing in small roles in films and television shows. In 1998, she landed the role of Carrie Heffernan on The King of Queens, which aired for nine seasons.

After leaving The King of Queens, Remini starred in the sitcom Kevin Can Wait. She also hosted the talk show Leah Remini: It's All Relative. In 2015, she published her memoir, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology.

Remini is a vocal critic of Scientology. She has spoken out about the abuses she suffered as a member of the church, and she has helped others to leave Scientology.
